When Rifat needed a care home placement, the local authority said he could only go into one of the homes which they had contracts with. His son, Mutlu came to us for advice and we supported him to challenge the authority. By citing its statutory duty under the Care Act, we allowed his father to have a genuine choice of care home providers.
