Getting the right care in a multidisciplinary team meeting

This case study and testimony was written by someone who used our advice service. We are very grateful for everyone who allows us to share their stories.
“May I take this opportunity to strongly recommend Care Rights UK to anyone needing their (excellent!) services.
This recommendation arises from the very comprehensive and precise help I recently received - particularly from a member of their staff, Emma Williams.
Allow me to offer a little background information. My wife, suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, was admitted to a psychiatric unit under Section 2 of the 1983 Mental Health Act. At the end of the section, I was invited to attend a multidisciplinary team meeting to look at options for her future care. I gathered from informal conversations that one option was admittance into a care home. Both my wife and I were absolutely opposed to this course of action and this directly led to my contacting Care Rights UK.
It was my privilege to talk with Emma who, from the outset, demonstrated warmth, empathy and kindness underpinned by an impressive knowledge of the issues involved - which I found very reassuring. This was backed up by a lengthy and highly detailed email that clearly stated legal aspects which I could use at the meeting. The information given gave me confidence to attend the meeting knowing, thanks to Emma, that I could present a very strong case. Suffice to say, my wife returned home!
My grateful thanks to Emma and Care Rights UK.”
