Help us promote older people’s rights – become a trustee of Care Rights UK

Care Rights UK champions the rights of older people needing care in the UK. We provide support and information to empower older people, their families and friends via our advice services, and we campaign to protect their rights and improve the quality of care services.

Care services are under great pressure and the quality of care is all too often compromised. The lives of older people are being blighted. We tell their stories in the media and in our lobbying work and campaign for their rights.

Our strategic priorities are to:

  • Inform, advise and empower more people about care rights

  • Campaign for essential change so that people’s rights are respected and they receive high quality care from a system which is appropriately, staffed and valued

  • Grow to meet the challenge as a financially sustainable, effective organisation

This is an exciting time to join our charity as we transform our organisation to achieve these objectives. We are recruiting Trustees with relevant skills, qualifications and experience in:

  • financial management to take on the role of Treasurer

  • governance, business development or management

  • policy or campaigns

  • lived experience of adult care services either directly or via a relative or friend

We’re a small charity, punching above its weight – can you help us to maintain and increase our reach and impact?

Contact Trish Davies, Chair, for an informal discussion via team@carerightsuk.org. For further information see www.carerightsuk.org and the role description. Apply today, and by 9am on Monday 23 September. We look forward to hearing from you.
