Joint statement on recent unrest

Care Rights UK has coordinated a joint statement from care organisations on recent unrest in parts of the UK

8 August 2024

As organisations working to support people drawing on and working in care, we condemn in the strongest possible terms the recent violence across our towns and cities. Racism, hate and xenophobia have no place in our country.

People migrating to the UK have made an immeasurable contribution to our care and health services over generations. We celebrate the part they have played, and continue to play, in our care services, our communities and our country.

We stand united against these abhorrent acts and in solidarity with all communities affected, including those working in or drawing on care who are being targeted, directly or indirectly. No one should be threatened, harmed or made to feel unwelcome because of who they are.
